LASH HOME CARE
Protecting your investment after you get lashes from So In Love Lashes
We’ve put together the following guide to help you make the most of your new lash extensions. There’s no need to be intimidated by the following recommendations - you’ll get into a lash routine easily, and your lash artist is here to support you.
How to help your lash extensions last longer.
The most important step:
Cleanse lash extensions daily with So In Love Lashes Lash Bath.
So In Love Lash Bath foaming cleanser is available at your lash appointment, and is so important, that we include one in every full set appointment.
Why cleanse lash extensions?
Dirt, oil, makeup and dust may compromise the integrity of the lash glue when not properly removed. Any buildup/residue on the lashes will prevent new lashes from adhering properly at your next appointment.* You also run the risk of developing blepharitis (inflammation of the eye lid).
Additional Lash Care Tips:
Avoid using any fibrous cleaning products such as Q-tips, cotton rounds, or washcloths directly on lashes as they may snag the base of the lash extensions. Always be gentle with your lashes.
Avoid picking at your lashes or rubbing your eyes.
Attempt to sleep on your back, as lashes may tangle or snag against your pillow - but please don’t sacrifice a nice deep sleep for your lashes! A good nights’ sleep will make you look almost as pretty as your lashes (almost*).
Gently brush them back into place in the morning.
Even if proper aftercare is practiced, expect to lose at least 30% of your natural lashes every two weeks.
During different seasons, you may experience more lash shedding than normal. This is to be expected and is part of your natural eyelash growth cycle.
It is recommended to schedule a fill every two weeks, in order to remove outgrown lashes as well as fill with new lashes to maintain a complete look.
If it has been more than four weeks since your last appointment, we will need to schedule a full set.
Please understand that lash extensions must be maintained and are not permanent.
Just as your nails grow out and the polish may chip, lash extensions require ongoing upkeep.
Eyelash extensions are a luxury service that requires licensing, certification, skill and patience. A successful lash experience requires a collaborative effort between lashor and lashee. So In Love Lashes looks forward to beautifying your lashes!
How to wash your lash extensions.
Apply So In Love Lash Bath foaming cleanser to the eyelid and gently wash in sweeping downwards motion with a cleansing brush or your clean finger.
We recommend this Rare Beauty soft makeup brush; available at your lash appointment.
Rinse thoroughly with water.
Use your hands, shower water, or a rinse bottle like this one we offer at your lash appointment to splash away cleanser.
Do not be alarmed if you see a couple lashes falling out during cleansing.
It is normal to lose two to five natural lashes per eye per day.
Once lashes are dry, gently fluff and reshape the lashes with a clean lash brush.
Allow the lashes to air dry, you may use a fan or a blow dryer on the cool setting.
